45457: David Smith

David, son of Malcolm Smith and Mary Ann Macleod, 16 Balallan moved to Glasgow before emigrating to Canada at the end of 1906. He worked in the mining and smelting towns of British Columbia and married Margaret Gray in Vancouver in 1911. Donald was a piper with the 72nd Canadians during the First World War. After the War, he settled in Belmont, Mass, USA and was a leading member of the Caledonian Society Pipe Band. David and Margaret had one son and David later married Margaret Macdonald of Islivig, Uig.
