Murdo Montgomery (1894-1917) was a son of Robert Montgomery and Catherine Macleod, 17 Cromore. After his father's death in 1900 the family moved to Stornoway, living at 21 New Street and  31 Bayhead Street.

Murdo served with the 11th Royal Scots Fusiliers during the First World War and was killed in 1917 in France.
