John (born 1879) was a son of John Macleod and Catherine Macfarlane, 24 Cromore.
On January 1, 1904 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number B1732. His record indicated that he was 5ft 5¾ in tall with blue eyes and a dark complexion. John was a fisherman on Stornoway registered fishing boats the Brothers and the Thistle. In 1914 when his term expired he declined to re-enrol.
He was a bachelor.
