Donald (born 1888) was a son of John Macleod and Catherine Macfarlane, 24 Cromore.
He emigrated to Canada and in 1918 was living at the Palace Hotel, in Sandon, British Columbia when he was drafted into the Canadian Expeditionary Force. His Service Number was 2140720 and his record indicates that he was 5 ft 7½ tall with brown hair, blue eyes and a ruddy complexion. He completed the registration but was given a discharge due to being accepted for the Royal Naval Canadian Volunteer Reserve.
