50187: Janet Ellen Macrae

Janet Ellen (1848-1881) was the eldest child of James Macrae and Jane Mackay; she was the only one of her siblings to have been born in Thurso.

She married the Reverend D Kelso, of Roslin, Ontario.

Jessie died in 1881 at 32; a stone at Baile na Cille cemetery reads:

In memory of Mary Barbara beloved daughter of James and Jane McRae who died 24th July 1880 aged 13 years. Also of our daughter Jessie H Gordon beloved wife of Revd D Kelso who died at the Manse, Roslin, 19th April 1881 aged 32 years whose remains lie in Cataraqui cemetery, Canada. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
