James (born 1893) was the eldest child of Murdo Morrison and Catherine Matheson, Reithmir, Valtos and later 3 Reef. He was one of the Reef Raiders in 1913.

James served in the Royal Naval Reserve during the First World War and was one of the twelve Uig men interned in the Netherlands. A record for him can be found in the Roll of Honour: Uig, World War One.

James married Marion Buchanan, 4 Mangersta and they lived in Stornoway.
