Alasdair Ruairidh Dhòmhnaill

Alexander (1866-1951) was a son of Roderick Mackinnon and Catherine Macdonald, 4 Caverstay.

In Lochs, in 1896, he married Henrietta Macleod, 1 Garyvard.  Alexander and Henrietta settled at 1 Garyvard and they had three children. Their house was built on the foreshore at Garyvard and named Seahaven.

Alexander was widowed in 1902 and in Lochs, in 1904  he married Mary Ann Macleod, 1a Garyvard. Alexander and Mary Ann had eight children.

Alexander had a small shop attached to his house and like most merchants, owned a number of boats over the years to bring goods from Stornoway; one of those was the Try Again.
