Catherine Macdonald (1835-1918) was a daughter of Alexander Macdonald and Margaret Smith, 5 Garyvard. The family later moved to 10 Garyvard.

She married Roderick Mackinnon,  4 Caverstay. Catherine and Roderick settled at 4 Caverstay and they had fourteen children, two of whom died at a young age and three who died in infancy.
