Ann (1868-1951) was a daughter of Angus Mackay and Catherine Maclennan of 4 Valtos.

Ann's mother died in 1875; the family moved to 30b Valtos after her father married Ann Macleod, this marriage provided Ann with a step mother and in due course four half siblings.

Ann married John Newall, of Tong Farm, and the couple settled at Tong Farmhouse. The couple had at least five children; their son Thomas Donald died young, in 1916.

In 1923 they emigrated to Canada and lived there until 1933.

They later settled at Reay Cottage, Back. Ann was widowed in 1940. Reay Cottage passed to their eldest daughter.
