51474: Kenneth John Mackay
Kenneth John (1913-1967) was a son of Norman Mackay and Phyllis Ann Tatham, 31 Valtos.
At Kirkcaldy, in 1940, he married Elizabeth Anderson Campbell Shaw from Fife and they lived in Miavaig Cottage where they ran a grocery store. The shop was situated behind the Church of Scotland (later used as a garage by John Matheson Iain a Bheicear).
After his parents death they moved to 31 Valtos and in 1957 emigrated to Australia with their children. The family settled at Kogarah, New South Wales where Kenneth died suddenly aged 54. The couple are both buried at Woronora Cemetery, Sutherland, New South Wales.
In his younger days Kenneth was renowned in the district for his ability at playing football.
