Malcolm (born 1863) was a son of Angus Macaulay and Christina Maclennan, 35 Cliff. He assumed tenancy of the croft and remained there after his marriage to Catherine Ann Morrison, 32 Valtos. They had six children (also a daughter Margaret who died 21 June 1909 aged 3 months) .

His headstone at Valtos cemetery reads;
