53157: John Carmichael
John Carmichael (1882-1945) was a son of John Carmichael and Margaret Macmillan, 16 Lemreway.
In Lochs, in 1920, he married Catherine Campbell, 31 Lemreway. John and Catherine were cottars on 16 Lemreway and they had seven children.
There were six families living on the croft and in 1922 the family moved to 3 Orinsay.
John was lost in the drowning tragedy in Loch Shell in 1945 and his widow and remaining unmarried members of the family subsequently moved to Stornoway.
