53272: Muriel Cameron

Muriel (born 1936) was the daughter of Allan Cameron and Mary Macleod of 68 North Tolsta. Muriel’s mother died in 1946 and her father remarried; it is uncertain whether Muriel shared a home with her stepmother, Helen Ann Mutch.

At some point Muriel’s father divided the croft and retained 68a North Tolsta, but it is not certain Muriel was still living in the parental home at this time.

In 1958 Muriel married Donald John Macleod of 2 Enaclete. The couple lived in London, where John was in the Metropolitan Police, before settling in the Bridge of Don. They had two sons, one of whom predeceased his father, aged about 30.

Muriel died in Inverness.
