Malcolm Macinnes

Malcolm Macinnes (1893-1919) was a son of Murdoch Macinnes and Mary Macritchie, 2 Lemreway.

He joined the Royal Navy and served in the First World War including the Battle of Jutland. Malcolm served aboard HMS Dublin.

Malcolm lost his life in the Iolaire Disaster of 1st January 1919, aged 26. His name is commemorated on a family gravestone in Gravir Cemetery, the Pairc War Memorial, the Chatham Naval Memorial, the Lewis War Memorial, Stornoway, the Iolaire Memorial at Holm and the Iolaire Centenary Memorial in Stornoway.
