Alexander Mackenzie (1824-1904) was a son of Murdoch Mackenzie and Ann Macdonald, 9 Old Orinsay.
Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 6 Grimshader.
In Uig, in 1861, he married Margaret Maciver, 1 Lochganvich. Alexander and Margaret settled at 6 Grimshader and they had six children.
Alexander was widowed in 1876 and in Lochs, in 1879, married Margaret Macsween, 7 Leurbost. The couple had two children.
