Margaret (1813-1886) was the daughter of Donald Smith and Annabella Nicolson. Her father Donald was joint tacksman of Laxay along with John Smith Iain Tuathanach  Her mother was Annabella Nicolson, daughter of Tormod Donn, Eishken.

Margaret  and three of her brothers were raised by her uncle Donald at 5 Old Gravir after her parents died whilst she was still young. 

In Lochs, in 1836, she married Alexander Macinnes, 13 Old Orinsay where they had three of  their six children.

Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 5 Crossbost. In 1851 her brother, John is living with the family.
