53802: Ann Mackenzie

Ann Mackenzie (1828-1868) was a daughter of Murdo Mackenzie and Catherine Macdonald,  6 Old Orinsay.

Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 15 Crossbost.

In Lochs, in 1852, she married John Mackay, 32 Callanish. She was the first of his four wives. Ann and John settled at 32 Callanish and they had eight children.  Ann died aged 41.
