Alexander Macdonald (1786-1845) was a son of Duncan MacDonald and Catherine Maclennan, 6 Old Orinsay.
He married Annabella Mackenzie, Cromore. Alexander and Annabella settled at 11 Old Orinsay and they had eleven children.
Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 4 Steinish, Stornoway.
