Murdo, son of Donald Morrison and Marion Mackinnon, 41a Balallan went to Punta Arenas in Chile before returning to Lewis. He worked as a gamekeeper on Aline Estate and at Mulhaggery on the Eishken Estate before moving to Balallan in 1933. Murdo was married to Margaret Mackenzie, 13 Arivruach. After she died at the age of 26 years, he married Christina Ferguson, 12 Habost, Lochs.
