5561: Rev Ewen Campbell

Rev Ewen Campbell (1814-1889), son of Archibald Campbell and Matilda Macleod, was born in Nova Scotia. He returned to Scotland from Canada in the 1830s and studied divinity in Glasgow University. He was ordained missionary in Benbecula in 1857, translated Knock on 28 September 1864 and admitted to Lochs on 18 January 1870, ministering to the remnant remaining in the Established Church in Lochs.

He died, unmarried, on 9 February 1889.
