Rev Murdo Macleod

Murdo, son of John Macleod and Ann Smith, 50 Balallan served with the RNRT during the First World War. He studied at the University of Glasgow and Trinity College from 1926 to 1932. Murdo was licensed by the Presbytery of Glasgow on 17 March 1932 and was ordained to Kilmuir on 18 August 1932.

He married Mary Ferguson from South Uist and served as a RN Volunteer Chaplain in the Channel Ports during the Second World War. He was translated to Tarbert, Harris on 2 December 1947 and became the second husband of Jessie Bell Matheson (or Mackenzie), 8 Morrison Avenue, Stornoway (and 6 Flesherin, Point). They lived at 8 Morrison Avenue and he may have retired to 50 Balallan.
