Hector Ross Macrae

Hector Ross Macrae (1901-1941), Keose House came to Keose in 1932 where he set up a shop in the Manse selling groceries and drapery. He served with the Pioneer Corps in Africa during the Second World War. He was knocked down by a truck whilst returning from an Army cinema during the blackout and subsequently died in hospital from his injuries. He is buried in the Tel El Kebir War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
