David (1899-1919) was a son of Peter Macinnes and Ann Nicolson, 2 Lemreway.

On February 12, 1918 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number DA19531. His record indicates that he was 5ft 9in tall with grey eyes and pale complexion. He was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. Based at HMS Pembroke and aboard HMT Daniel Henley, HMS Halcyon and HMS Implacable.

David was lost in the Iolaire Disaster of 1st January 1919, aged 19 and is buried in Gravir Cemetery. His name is commemorated in <<118515## Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918,>>  on the Pairc War Memorial, the Stornoway War Memorial, the Iolaire Memorial at Holm and the Iolaire Centenary Memorial in Stornoway.
