5762: Margaret Mackay

Margaret (1821-1905) was a daughter of Donald Mackay and Margaret Nicolson, 7 Old Eishken. Her father died c1830 and in 1835 the family were evicted and moved to 16 Old Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1840, she married Norman Matheson, 23 Old Gravir. Margaret and Norman were cottars at 16 Old Gravir where they had five of their nine children.
The family obtained 39 Gravir in the 1852 lotting.
Margaret was widowed in 1885 and in the 1891 Census is living with widowed daughter, Mary in Crossbost.
