Donnchadh Choinnich Dhonnchaidh

Duncan (1888-1915) was a son of Kenneth Macmillan and Margaret Maciver, 23 Lemreway.

He joined the Army in 1908 and served as a Lance Corporal with the 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, S/N 283, in the First World War. He went to France with the vanguard of the Expeditionary Force. Duncan died on 27 March 1915 of meningitis at St Omer. He is buried in the Longuenesse (St Omer) Cemetery and his name is commemorated in  <<118515##Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-18, >> on the Pairc War Memorial and the Lewis Memorial in Stornoway
