Louis Neill Chaluim
Lewis (1908-1974) was a son of Neil Nicolson and Gormelia Morrison, 27 Lemreway.
On September 2, 1927 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number AX 14099 and re-enrolled under BX8740 and CX7650. His records indicate that he was 5ft 8in tall, had brown hair, blue eyes and a fresh complexion. Lewis was a fisherman on the Kebboch Head from 1927 until he was Mobilised on August 27, 1939.
Lewis served as a Petty Officer in Royal Navy throughout the Second World War based at HMS Europa, HMS Mentor, HMS Minos, HMS Orlando and HMS Valkyrie. His name is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War.
At Stornoway, in 1935, he married Agnes Macmillan, 23 Gravir. Lewis and Agnes settled at 25 Gravir and they had six children.
The family moved to Nairn in the 1950s.
