Roderick, born 1895, was a son of Donald and Annie nee Macdonald who relocated from 2 Crulivig to 5 Lundale sometime in the early 1900s. He served with the 3rd Seaforth Highlanders during WW1 and was killed on the first day of the Battle of Neuve Chapelle; aged 19 years.
