62691: Neil Macleod

Neil Macleod (1900-1985) was a son of John and Catherine Macleod, 9 Marvig.

He enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, S/Ns A11225, B7027, C6398 and D5923, on August 11, 1923. His service records indicate that he was 5ft 7¾ in tall with light brown hair, grey eyes and a fresh complexion. Neil was a fisherman on Buckie and Stornoway registered fishing boats including the Bellann, the Lady Marjorie, the Evening Star and  the Starlight Rays. 

He was Mobilised on February 4, 1939 and served with the Royal Navy thoughout the Second World War based at  HMS Pyramus and HMS Victory I.

Neil was a bachelor at 9 Marvig.
