Murdo Donald Kennedy (1926-2010) was a son of Alexander Kennedy and Catherine Mackenzie, 13 Marvig. He was a fisherman and spent some time as a Whaler in South Georgia. He injured his back and lived with his sister, Mary in Glasgow while he was in plaster.
In Stornoway, in 1959, he married Louisa Macleod, 3 Marvig. Murdo Donald and Louisa initially lived in Glasgow and later settled at 13 Marvig. The couple had five children. He was widowed in 2000.
Murdo Donald was a poet and composed many song.
