Marion was born in 1920, the daughter of Allan MacLeod and Christina Munro of 15 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry). The family moved to 5 Hoebeg, North Uist in 1924.
Marion emigrated to Canada in 1948 and married Murdo Angus Macdonald of 5 Crowlista, of the Toronto Police. They and their children lived in Toronto and Peterborough.
