64072: Murdo Macdonald
Murdo (1830-1876) was a son of Donald Macdonald and Marion Macdonald, Harris. The family were living at 5 Torastay at the time of the first Census in 1841.
In Lochs, in 1854, Murdo married Ann Macmillan from Harris. Murdo and Ann settled at 5 Torastay and they had seven children.
When Torastay was part of the Crobeg Farm there was a Meal Mill on the stream at Torastay. The first known miller was Murdo’s father Donald, and Murdo was the subsequent miller.
