Marion Nicolson

Marion Nicolson

Marion (c1821-1897) was a daughter of Kenneth Nicolson and Catherine Buchanan who emigrated from Carnish to Lingwick, Quebec, in around 1841. Marion married Donald Macdonald, an emigrant from Kneep; Donald was the brother of Norman Macdonald who married Marion's sister, Mary Nicolson. Marion and Donald had ten children:

Chirsty born c1848 (married Murdo Maciver)
Ann 3rd November 1848 - 10th October 1909 (married John Buchanan; with issue)
Catherine born c1852 (married John Ross)
Mary c1854 - 1940 aged 86 (married Walter Gilbert)
Daniel Donald c1857 - 1940 aged 83 (married Flora Macdonald in 1895; with issue - Arthur, Margaret, William and Jennie)
Margaret c1859 - 1888 aged 29 (married Finlay Mackay)
Norman James 20th May 1860 - 30th November 1927 (married Flora Ann Nicolson; with issue)
John Kenneth b c1866 - did not marry
Chirsty born c1868 (married Alex Macleod)
