65424: Mary Morrison

Mary (born c1797) was a daughter of Malcolm Morrison and Catherine Macleod of Cappadale. In 1825 Mary married John Mackay from Crowlista, and lived at Miavaig before finally settling at 2 Carishader. Mary and John had five children.

According to local tradition the family was cleared from Miavaig when Miavaig Farm and House was created in the 1850s for James Macrae, the Registrar and the Inspector of the Poor in Uig.
