Betsy (1845-1937) was the eldest child of Norman Macleod and Catherine Macleod, 2 Old Mangersta. In 1861, she moved with her family to 12 Old Mangersta and in 1872, when the village was cleared, to 1 Doune Carloway. She married Malcolm Macleod, 8 Kirvick and they had eight children.
