Janet (1847-1888) was a daughter of Malcolm Macaulay and Margaret Maclean, who left Valtos in 1849 and settled at 49 North Shawbost.
In 1869 in Carloway, Janet married Alexander Macleod of 27 South Shawbost; the couple settled at 27 South Shawbost and had eight children.
