66046: Roderick Matheson

Roderick son of Murdo and Christina nee Macaulay matriculated at Edinburgh University in 1692 and graduated on 30th March 1695; on 23rd May 1697 he was appointed parish schoolmaster at Dingwall when he was described as ‘a young man in the Lewes’. He was in Dingwall for two years but returned to Lewis and became tacksman of South Galson – he lived there from 1704 to 1729.

Roderick appears to have left no descendants.
