Murdo (1884-1943) was a son of Donald Matheson and Catherine Macleod, 27 Gravir.

He served in the First World War as a Lance Corporal in the Seaforth Highlanders and is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

Murdo was Headteacher at Gravir School and lived at Gravir Schoolhouse with his mother, Catherine, his sister, Mary, his niece, Barbara and a lodger, Ann Murray a teacher at Gravir School.

He later moved to 11 Gravir with his brother, Duncan, his sister, Mary and Nephew, Donald.
