Donald Angus Matheson (1900-1984) was the eldest son of Murdo Matheson and Christina Nicolson, 27 Gravir. He was a Carpenter at Alexander Stephens & Sons, Govan, Glasgow.
On April 26, 1924 he emigrated to Canada on the SS Marloch from Stornoway to Quebec. He emigrated to the United States of America and was Naturalised in 1928. His Application Form states that he was 5ft 8in tall with a fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes and weighed 165llbs.
He married Ann Montgomery formerly of 2 Garyvard who also emigrated on the SS Marloch. They settled in Detroit and they had a daughter, Christina Mary.
The family returned to Lewis and settled in Stornoway.
