67626: John MacLeod
John (1790-1845) was the son of Malcolm MacLeod.
John was a tailor and merchant. In 1818 he held tenancies in both Ruisgarry and Borve, Berneray, paying annual rental of £5.10 and £6.12.6 respectively. By 1830 he held a croft only in Ruisgarry, paying £3. John was married to Margaret MacAskill, with whom he had at least seven children. The family was moved to Borve, Harris during the 1840s.
