68231: Christina Munro

Christina Munro was born in 1831, the daughter of Malcolm Munro and Effie Morrison of old Ruisgarry, moving to croft 3 Ruisgarry in 1850. She became a domestic servant and married John Shaw of croft 13 Ruisgarry (Sunhill) in 1866. They lived as cottars on his father’s croft, and together had a family of three children.

Following her husband’s death from consumption in 1875, Christina and the children moved to Backhill, where they lived as cottars. She also worked for a time as a dairymaid.
