68717: Lachlan Munro

Lachlan Munro was born in old Ruisgarry in 1843, moving with his parents to 3 Ruisgarry in 1850. In 1869 he married Ann Ferguson and they became cottars on 3 Ruisgarry, where their eleven children were born. Initially a fisherman, he later worked as a crofter.

In 1900 Lachlan obtained 10 Borve. Lachlan enjoyed testing his skills on the water and was involved in a race to Opisay with his neighbour Malcolm Morrison, which took place in about 1910.
