68868: Marion MacKinnon

Marion MacKinnon was born in 1826, the daughter of John MacKinnon and Margaret Martin of old Ruisgarry. Marion married James MacAskill, and they became cottars on 2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill). Her widowed mother lived nearby.

Marion’s and James’ first two children were born on Berneray before the family emigrated to Australia on the Royal Albert, leaving the United Kingdom in August 1855. Their other five children were born in Australia: Margaret, Flora, Joan, James and John.
