69552: Roderick MacAskill

Roderick MacAskill was born in 1894, the eldest son of James MacAskill and Christina MacLeod of 4a Ruisgarry (Tarraloch). He attended Berneray School between 1900 and 1909.

During the Great War Roderick served as a Private in the 1st Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed on 22nd February 1917, and is remembered on the Basra Memorial in Iraq.
