Ann MacKay, born in 1872, was one of the ten children of fisherman Norman MacKay and his wife Catherine MacAulay, cottars on 5 Flodabay, Harris.
Ann married her husband, Alexander MacDonald in Flodabay. She and Alexander set up home at Ludag on the island of Berneray, and had a family of seven children.
