69947: Christina MacDonald

Christina was born in 1845, the daughter of Norman MacDonald and his second wife Rachel MacAskill. The site of their home in Borve was later known as Tobhta Thormoid Dhuinne. In 1854 Borve was cleared and the family were removed to Quay, where they lived as cottars. Christina became a domestic servant, marrying Alexander MacKillop of 5 Ruisgarry in 1866. Together they were to have eight children, living at Quay. Following her mother’s death in 1873 they were passed the house. Christina died of consumption in 1883.
