70223: Ann MacLeod

Ann MacLeod, born in about 1844, was the eldest daughter of Roderick and Christina MacLeod of old Borve, then later 21/22 Ruisgarry (Ben Leva). Ann became a domestic servant, marrying Lachlan MacKillop of 6 Ruisgarry (Beasdaire) in 1869. They lived there with their family of eight children until 1900, when Lachlan was allotted 2 Borve.

Ann is mentioned in a poem Litir gu Seonaidh Lachlainn written by the bard Malcolm MacAskill to her son Reverend John who had emigrated to Canada.
