Catherine MacAskill
Catherine MacAskill, daughter of John MacAskill and Mary Morrison, was born at Lag a' Chealla in about 1826. She married boat carpenter Norman Paterson. In 1851 they were living at Inaclete Road, Stornoway, returning to Berneray in 1854 to tenant 9 Ruisgarry (Gunhill). Together she and Norman had a family of eight children.
