71445: Donald Maclean

Donald, son of Murdo Maclean and Catherine Mackay, 17 Doune Carloway married Murdina Gillies, 29 South Shawbost and emigrated to the USA. They lived in Detroit, Michigan and had two children; Mary Catherine and Murdo John. Mary Catherine married Alexander MacPhee, who has Uist connections. They lived in Florida and after they retired, moved to Texas where their two daughters, Diane and Donna live and both girls are very involved in piping and Highland dancing. A son Donald lives in Renton, Dumbarton and is married to a girl from Helensburgh.

Mary Catherine died in February 2009 in Texas and her brother Murdo John, who lived in Wisconsin, died about 1999.
