73726: William MacDonald

William was born in 1823, the son of John MacDonald and Catherine MacQueen of old Ruisgarry. William became a farmer and married Marion MacLean, also of old Ruisgarry.

William obtained 15 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry) in the 1850 relotting, and there he and Marion made their home. However, in 1864 he lost the croft which was passed to Alexander MacLeod. William’s family was removed to Ludag where they became cottars, and he found employment at a farm servant. Together he and Marion had a family of seven children.

He died of supposed consumption in 1890. The house at Ludag was passed to son Ailig Mor.
