73732: John MacDonald

John MacDonald’s ancestors are said to have come from Pabbay. Known also as Iain Donn, John crofted in Ruisgarry. With his wife Catherine MacQueen, also from Ruisgarry, he had at least seven children.

In 1818 John held a tenancy with one of his sons, paying £6.12.6 annual rental. He passed away sometime before 1830, when Catherine tenanted the croft as a widow.
